Cape Town… first days

Well, after an incredibly long flight… Denver to Atlanta ( 2 1/2 hours) to Johannesburg (15 1/2 ) hours to Cape Town (2 1/2) hours … not to mention the over 5 hours of waiting at the various airports!  Well,  I am here and it is terrific.  It is a bit windy, which I didn’t expect.  But, the wind blows in from Antarctica which is only  miles away so the air is pure and sweet.

The people I have met here are amazingly kind and friendly.  I am a bit surprised at all the hate.  The browns (called ‘colored’) hate the blacks who hate the whites who hate everyone.  There are lines drawn all over and, depending on your financial status, determines where you are able to live.  With, of course, the white neighborhoods being ultra expensive.  Especially, I would imagine, when a person who is considered not white tries to buy the property.

Is it ever going to possible, do you think, for all of us to get along regardless of skin, hair, or eye color??  Do you think we can ever progress to a peaceful planet and just learn love, tolerance, acceptance, and joy in each other???
